Waste Calendar
Experimental desig, Information Design“Waste Calendar” is a calendar design that reminds users to reflect on their daily consumption and waste habits. It allows people to track whether they used a particular item, whether it can be reused, and whether its usage can be reduced. Designed to promote sustainability and circular use, the calendar adopts an innovative format that encourages conscious reflection and behavior adjustment in everyday life.
(Waste Collection Process)
Through this routine, I started paying attention to how I was using everyday items—whether I was relying too much on disposables, whether something could be reused, or whether I was creating unnecessary waste out of habit. Each piece of trash became a small reminder, prompting me to reflect on my consumption patterns.
(New Calendar System)
My calendar differs from traditional month-based systems by using dates as the primary unit and embedding month information within a weekly cycle. For example, the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th of January all fall on Thursday, and after seven pages, the cycle repeats. This design not only tracks time but also allows users to intuitively experience patterns, repetition, and the rhythm of cycles.
