YoY Chocolate
(Inspiration)
My inspiration comes from the pockets of jeans—the safest place I hid chocolate as a child. I wanted this chocolate to be easy for kids to carry around, fitting perfectly in their pockets. The packaging colors are inspired by rich chocolate browns and classic denim blues, reflecting both the theme and everyday life.
(Logo)
For the YoY Chocolate logo, I chose the friendly, rounded forms of Cooper Black to convey warmth, cuteness, and approachability. I played with positive and negative space so that the “O” nestles between the two “Y”s—like it’s hiding in a playful game of peekaboo. This small detail adds a sense of mischief and fun, echoing the joyful spirit of a treat that’s both healthy and delightful.
(Package)
I chose unique and exciting flavors—yuzu, strawberry yogurt, and ube,in order to spark children’s curiosity and interest. Each flavor is distinguished by bright colors and bold graphics, making them easy to recognize and fun to explore.
The packaging is designed for convenience—when placed in a pocket, the flavor can be easily identified from the top of the package, helping kids quickly find their favorite chocolate
(Collateral)
I created collateral like cards, stickers, coupons, and hangtags tied to the paper bags. For the hangtags, I made the pocket pattern transparent and layered it over the chocolate info card underneath—creating the effect of seeing the chocolate inside the pocket.
